Kazak Carpet

Kazak rugs however are mainly woven by the people of Afghanistan and in more recent years by nomadic Afghans in Pakistan. The designs are influenced by Caucasian designs from Russia and the former Soviet regions as well as patterns found in rugs from the northern parts of the Persian Empire. Most Kazak carpets have a geometric design and usually feature red, blue, yellow or gold colors. Many designs feature medallions as well as animals and flowers, not unlike tribal rugs.
